Based around individual sports, looking at skills and techniques used within the sport.
Week 1 – in week one the class was mainly getting used to the sport of table tennis as we started of easy with partnering up and began light rally among one and other . as the session progressed our teacher stepped in and used demonstration to teach us the drive shot, going through the motion and also the positioning of the hand and the bat, after he explained the drive shot clearly we then started playing competitive short games instructed to use the drive shot as much as possible which could improve our technique on this particular shot
Week 2 – in week two the class move on from the drive shot and started a more advance shot in table tennis , which goes more into depth of different shots that are used within the sport. This shot is called the block shot it is used effectively within table tennis games to block the opponent shot and also always the play to gain more time in the game. The same warm up routine was used as in week one with the pairs and rallying. After roughly 10 minutes our teacher stepped in and demonstrated the block shot also asking us question for example when you think this shot would be used. The teacher also when threw the level of how high your bat should be and how far away you should be from the table tennis table. Matts where layer out as marker to be hit and you gained point if you hit them, this game was very helpful as it improved you block technique in general.
Week 3 – in week 3 , we began to higher the shot level and started looking as backhand shot which are very complicated to use in a phase of play , the teacher gathered us round one table and placed out a set of coloured matts in the four corner of the table , he then serve up the ball to a class mate and showed us the foot and leg motion in comparison to each other which allowed him to hit the targets or close to the targets , we then told us to practices this without partners for roughly 10 mins and videos some footage of us doing the shoot.
